Typescript Books and the Moment of Microform

Lisa Gitelman, Associate Professor, Departments of English and of Media, Culture, and Communication, New York University. Part of an in-progress work entitled ‘Making Knowledge with Paper,’ this talk considers the potential of new media to transform scholarly communications. Focusing primarily on “new media” of the 1930s, it demonstrates some surprising points of connection between work done during the Depression and the digital humanities today.
